(6,115 posts)The SCOTUS always releases its opinions in June, and they always wait until the end of June to release the most controversial ones. Why don't you blame the J6 committee for scheduling hearings in June, if you think it's a conspiracy? The J6 committee is well aware of the SCOTUS schedule.
There was no coordination. Gah, quit seeing conspiracies everywhere. It's bad enough the other side thinks every single thing is a nefarious conspiracy.
If they REALLY wanted to fuck up the hearings they would have released this opinion on Thursday, before the hearing.
And another thing. Your complaint sounds like you're telling us women we need to move on. America needs time to rage, grieve, and organize. The J6 hearings break is giving us that time. The hearings will resume after the holiday on the 4th.

(6,115 posts)The SCOTUS opinions are ALWAYS rendered in June. There was no nefarious planning here. If you want to BLAME, then blame the J6 committee for holding hearings when the SCOTUS usually renders its opinions.
Sheesh, people, not everything is a conspiracy.

(6,115 posts)Boy, I don't want to live thinking every single thing that happens is someone's nasty plot to make me miserable. Why would others look for conspiracies everywhere?
This is a timing issue, nothing more. The SCOTUS always releases opinions in June. The J6 committee wanted to present its findings earlier in the year, but more and more information was coming in and they couldn't. It looks to me that they scheduled the hearings not to fuck with the SCOTUS schedule but to get the public the information as soon as they could reasonably present it, leaving themselves time to schedule additional hearings before the midterms if necessary. And that turned out to be necessary because people have been contacting the committee after each hearing with even MORE information. I believe it's a GOOD THING that these hearings are going to drag out through the summer!
This is a timing issue, not a conspiracy. As I've said, if it really was a conspiracy, the SCOTUS could have released an odious opinion every single day there was a hearing. Now if they had done that, I'd believe it was a conspiracy to distract. They didn't release the worst of their opinions until after the first hearings and before the next set. That alone tells me there was no conspiracy here.

(7,715 posts)who said a growing number of people are jettisoning Trump. That's good, but not good enough.
In addition to Trump and his henchpeople paying a price for J6, the Republican Party cannot be allowed to wash their hands of their support of Trump.
The fury against the abortion decision will maintain, and there will be more and more J6 hearings and revelations.

(8,387 posts)The Im suspicious of the timing thing is particularly dumb in this context, given that the SC ends its term EVERY JUNE, EVERY YEAR.
The timing of the announcement of major decisions of the term is pretty simple - AROUND THE END OF JUNE. Every year.
The J6 Committee does not run on a fixed annual schedule and can schedule their hearings for whenever they like.
But, nope, for decade after decade, the SC rigged their calendar a hundred years in advance, just to screw with the J6 committee
https://www.supremecourt.gov/about/procedures.aspx
A Term of the Supreme Court begins, by statute, on the first Monday in October. Usually Court sessions continue until late June or early July.
Its a massive coverup. We need fuzzy YouTube videos and grainy photographs to figure this out.

(6,115 posts)Logic is failing here.
I am really disgusted when our side looks for nefarious conspiracies in everything. If there was a conspiracy, it could have been planned a whole lot better! For example, the SCOTUS could have released an opinion every single morning there was a hearing throughout the month.
Sheesh.

(2,133 posts)is a much better issue to run on. As far as Jan. 6th hearings this will be viewed by each group as tribal. Very few people will cahnge their opinions. The Roe decision is way more personal and will cut across party lines.

It was getting repeated too often which sticks with people.

(8,838 posts)they'll be back in a few weeks...the break has given us a chance to catch our breaths and absorb the vastness of the conspiracy..and as to Roe V Wade, the J6 delay is allowing us to mourn, rage, and unify...

since it was helpful to know who also bought into crap like no plane hit the Pentagon etc., to put some of their other postings in a broader perspective.
Theres an active who paid Kavanaughs debts? thread which once again demonstrates how there are certain folks just asking questions arent really looking for answers. Whats funny about that thread is the OP actually links to an article answering that question, but it is obvious that no one read the article.

(8,387 posts)Obviously, they would have known about the plot to just keep the decision in the can, and they prepared the final version of their dissent months ago, so that the majority could pick the timing.
So fucking dumb.

(6,115 posts)It wasn't bad timing. Remember that the J6 committee wanted to start the hearings much earlier, but due to the amount of information and depositions they couldn't. It looks to me that they are getting the information to us as quickly as they reasonably could compile it. And wow, they are doing such a good job, I wouldn't have wanted that process to be rushed.
We have time to grieve, rage, and organize about Roe before the next set of hearings begins. In my mind, this is good timing. They released this decision in-between hearings, and sticking to their regular schedule.

(4,557 posts)All 6 were actually pro-choice and fierce defenders of Roe. But they decided to cast that aside to run media interference for Trump.
Or maybe they were paid off to do so.
Or maybe, just maybe, right wing administrations with the advice and consent of right wing senators appointed and confirmed right wing justices who released a decision during the normal court schedule. Sounds crazy, I know.

(96,882 posts)First, the Committee knew it was holding a Hearing the day before the last scheduled opinion date of the Court session.
Second, the Committee findings were the focus of the Thursday newscasts and the Friday morning newspapers.
Third, there will be subsequent Committee hearings leading up to the biggest evidence. That's how the Committee has structured things.
