Making Anger Work - Get Angry! Vote! Bring Others with You!

It's not difficult to understand, really. It's not even difficult to do. If every Democratic voter brought just one person who wouldn't otherwise have voted to the polls, but who will vote for Democrats, we would be sure to win.

It's a simple equation. Go and vote. Bring someone with you who will vote as you do. Everyone! Everywhere.

That is truly all we need to do. However not everyone will do that, so bring two or three or more people with you who will vote for Democrats. Make up for those who don't.

That's the basic idea behind GOTV. Let's just do it, OK?

1. Understand that some of us have been doing that for a very long time.

Some of us have been sounding the alarms and been called hysterical.

3. Yes, but many are not doing that.

In fact just about no topic sinks faster on DU than GOTV.

People don't understand that GOTV includes bringing just one other person who will vote for a Democrat to the polling place with you. It doesn't necessarily mean that you have to volunteer to canvass or work a phone bank. It just means that you're willing to do something, even if it is just to talk a non-voting friend into going to vote.

Some of us do work on GOTV. I've done it for decades. Not all of us do, though. I've seen people say things like, "Why? It won't matter anyhow." Right here on DU.

IT. WILL. MATTER. (but only if you do it.)

4. Other generations need to realize they have skin in the game and they'd better join the struggle.

Of course it matters, 100 million people didn’t bother to vote. We can’t let that stand.
