Reality vs Rhetoric

If you tune in to most any cable news station, the conversation (with the exception of the current Roe topic) gets around to gas prices and inflation. The entire country is supposedly overwrought with high prices cramping their lifestyle.

My work (service) requires a lot of driving within a 20 mile radius. I can't get from Point A to Point B without dealing with traffic slowdowns due to excessive traffic, burning up $5/gal gas.

I stopped at a popular restaurant Friday afternoon to pick up some take-out for dinner. Parking lot was full.

If everyone is suffering such a huge financial impact from inflation, how come everyone is still running up and down the roads and eating out at restaurants?

And by the way, gas prices have been high before...
