What to do if you hate losing Roe v. Wade? Here are some ideas:

This is for anyone feeling helpless and discouraged by the latest Supreme Court outrage, actually TAKING AWAY a right held for a half-century, from women - who, effectively, are now reduced to being handmaids of the state.

FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT: DON'T LET YOURSELF BE DISCOURAGED!!! This is NOT the end. This is NOT over. And there ARE things you can do to start the ball rolling back in the right direction. Starting with DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!

Remain resolute.
Vote.
Make sure all your pro-choice friends and family members vote as well.
Support Planned Parenthood and NARAL, and other legitimate groups.
Be more aware of what you buy - that may have originated in a no-choice state. DON’T support their economies. No more skiing in Sun Valley, Idaho, for example. There are other slopes in pro-choice states, and lots of other vacation options. There are WUNNNNNNNNderful beaches up and down California, so you don’t have to consider Florida anymore. Same with oranges and orange juice. No more “Florida Sunshine Tree” for THIS voter! Disneyland beats Disney World, for example.

There are LOTS of options. Read the labels to determine production sources. That’s what I’ll do at the grocery store from now on.

Don’t Buy No-Choice. Don’t give ‘em a nickel of your hard-earned money!

Maybe we should compile a list of products and services from no-choice states, here, if anybody needs it. It’d be a very good reference to have.

And if you have kids aiming for college, try if possible to steer them towards schools in pro-choice states. They’re liable to meet their future spouses there, and to make that area their new home. Try to think ahead.

If you have a broker or financial manager, advise them what you want for your portfolio. Make sure they know you’re against investing YOUR money in no-choice states.

And NAG your legislators!!!
From the mayor’s offices and local county officials’ offices, to your Congressmember, your Senators, your STATE Senators and Reps. Everywhere there’s an elected or appointed official who relies on the vote of the people and/or tax money from the people for his/her job.
Write to them so it’s on paper as well as online.
Write to your local/state newspapers.

In short: DON’T JUST SIT THERE AND FEEL BAD.

And if you’ve got a friend whose life and future and privacy rights have just been turned upside down, try to help them in some way if you can.

And one more thing: be the “news outlet” or monitor that finds whatever options there are but who’s behind them. Who’s running for office in your area? What’s the first thing you ask them? “Do you support a woman’s right to choose?” And ask them point-blank. Don’t fudge the language. It’s a simple yes-or-no answer to a simple and very clearly-stated question.
Support pro-choice candidates in any election and every election. And you’re going to have to be a one-issue voter. I know that’s a BIG ask. But look at how well the other side did, when adopting the no-choice position. And THEY were propelled forward by fervent one-issue voters on the no-choice side. If they’re not on your side on THIS most-critical issue, they don’t get your vote. I don’t care if your priest pushes the other way. I don’t care if they even throw money at you (in this case attempted BRIBES) to buy your vote. If they’re not right on THIS issue, you can bet they won’t be right on other issues you care about as well.

People need to know what to DO! Is there anything they can DO!

Well, short of reversing the ruling, there’s a LOT that can be done.

The main thing NOT to do is to give up! Or allow yourself to be discouraged!

One thing I always try to remind myself about is that I know what they want, and insofar as I’m able to do as an individual without a big platform, I WON’T GIVE IT TO THEM!!!

They WANT us to be sad.
They WANT us to be discouraged.
They WANT us to wallow in defeat.
They hate us for what we stand for, and they’re basically vindictive little fucks, reveling in our sadness and loss. They’re celebrating it.

Well, they AIN’T gonna get that fix from ME. Because I won’t give up or let up. And I’m certainly not gonna accept defeat and slink away in dejection and depression. They can kill this snake but they better watch their step because the fangs are still loaded with venom. They can break this window but better be careful how they try to climb into it because those shards are sharp as knives.

They WANT us angry beyond repair.

They WANT us to take up arms.

They WANT us to kill them, litteraly, so they have the REASON to retaliate with extreme prejudice. (I call this tactic stochastic "justification" ).

We have a couple of great eateries here that support Democrats and even allow us to hold meetings.

We also have some local companies that we can count on for donation items for our silent auctions at our fundraisers.

like GA, NC, VA, PA, WI, MI and maybe some others where there is a realistic chance of electing Guvs, Senators and maybe even flipping a few Legislatures. Maybe if you can let it be known where and why you are spending or not spending. The deep red made their bed so let them lie in it and help the sane people there.

Support all Democrats. Support our President. Support our Congressional leaders, like Pelosi, Schiff and Schumer. Support Lauren Underwood, who was elected at the same time as AOC and has done some actual work.

I will be a lot more supportive of AOC when she stops grandstanding and has some legislative accomplishments.

Volunteer. Volunteer with your local party or a local candidate. Better yet, help them with the things that most people don't like to do but are the most effective way of getting our voters to the polls- talking to voters on the phone or at their door. Most voters will be nice, but some won't. Know that and do it anyway. If you insist on avoiding contact with people who might not be nice and may in fact be stupid and irritating you eliminate your best chance of helping to create change for the better.

We have to "pack the joint" with Democrats! NO more of those other guys - who, unfortunately, just need a few votes in both the House AND the Senate to take over all of Capitol Hill - IN NOVEMBER!!! THIS November!!!!!

Support your local Democratic party and volunteer! Volunteer to help your local Democrats AND ESPECIALLY those running for office - wherever that office is. We should NOT focus just on who wins the White House. We can't afford that. We have to work on this from the school board level on up. EVERYBODY in there, at EVERY level, from the littlest local position all the way up from there. Not just THE House and Senate, but the one in your own state capitol. Build from the ground up! The bad guys did. They made this pretty much a 50-year project. They were hellbent and they never stopped looking for, AND TAKING the advantage, while we weren't paying much attention. Some of us were, but not the critical mass we needed.

We have to make sure November is OURS. And that we EXTEND our majorities in the House and Senate in Washington DC plus in our home states. Yeah, it's work. Yeah, it's a lot of effort that is difficult to put in. But think of the nightmare that WILL HAPPEN if we don't.

We really don't have a choice, when it comes to protecting a woman's right to choose. We have to work our tails off. Whether we're happy about it or not.

It is a free Chrome extension. If they have reviewed a company, when you visit that company's website, this cute little donkey pops up and shows the Progressive Shopper rating for that business.

I have found some surprises! DSW shoes has an A rating, as does Ulta. It shows contributions to Democrats v Republicans by the company and the employees and indicates if the company donates to PACS.

If it is a bad choice, it will tell you flat out that you can do better, don't shop there.

It may look like it for a few minutes, but that is the way it works.
...And it always looks that way....

...After World War I, they called it ..The Great War.. They thought that was the last great war..
...It wasn't the last,
...In the 50s, I thought we had seen it all...and in the 60s they landed a man on the moon..
...It ain't over till it's over.
...There are so many more examples..
.....If you think this Roe vs Wade is over, then,...
...... Please get a history book and read about times when people thought it was all over.
........... Please believe it ain't over till it is over...
