Religion always subjugates women.

Those 1st century ce. religions were using women as slave labor. That's why they had polygamy. More wives, more slave labor. Some more primitive societies back then only had a word for female slaves. The idea of a male slave was nonsensical to them.

So, if women die, it's no big deal, just buy another one.

During the witch trails there were entire German cities left with no living females or women. They killed them all as witches. Christianity at it's best.
