(8,387 posts)I doubt they'd want a loose cannon like Brooks for the hearing, since they aren't going to be asking the witness any questions they don't know the answers to, and they aren't going to hand a politician a megaphone.

(6,634 posts)asking him a question you have the answer, in the form of undisclosed testimony that could lead to a perjury charge, should he lie under oath, is always a better plan.

(34,296 posts)What we need is information, which we already have but even more conclusive that puts ALL republican voters in this box:
"yes, Jan 6 was a violent coup orchestrated by trump and many in the GOP and we will support it AGAIN when the time comes."
because we are in a very simple situation, you either are supporting that or you are voting for Democrats...

(34,296 posts)You need unanimous jury to do that, how hard will it be to find one?
near impossible I guess

(6,530 posts)So if that's the case, this whole Jan.6 investigation is useless, isn't it?

(96,882 posts)As any lawyer will tell you: "never ask a question you don't know the answer to". I find it hard to believe they'd bring in a hostile witness that they hadn't deposed.

(236 posts)and legit true believer in massive voter fraud. No way he would be in a public hearing.
Only way his testimony is ever used would be in small video bites if he ever is interviewed/deposed by the committee.

(10,438 posts)If so, I would agree that he'd make much more sense than Cipollone.

(24,079 posts)Theyll have him deposed in a closed door session, then show clips in the televised hearings.
They can manage the grandstanding that way.
Im guessing either its the documentary footage, or Cippilone.
Long shots:
Kemp, Cleta Mitchell, an aide with significant testimony.
