Planned Parenthood quietly built massive 'megaclinic' in Illinois near Missouri border

This article is from 2019. I don't recall seeing this before. It sounds as though they were planning ahead for a time when Roe would be overturned.

The 18,000-square-foot clinic which will open later this month in Fairview Heights, Illinois and is equipped to provide services to 11,000 patients, Planned Parenthood announced Tuesday.

Even both for the horrific Supreme Court decision the entire state of Missouri only had one clinic to my understanding.

Ever since Pritzker took office in 2019, Illinois has been making it a priority to expand abortion access.

We have been preparing for this for awhile even though we hoped it wouldn't happen.

The only clinic in the state of MO was in St. Louis. My niece, a Nurse Practitioner, worked there for a time a few years ago.

Missouri will put up literal road blocks to keep women from accessing this care.

Hope I'm wrong.

That would be a step to far for most voters to approve.

The new clinic in Illinois is about fifteen miles east of the St. Louis PP clinic. The St. Louis clinic had already greatly reduced abortion procedures, due to local and state interference.

The Illinois clinic is still considered to be part of the St. Louis municipal area, and is in a fairly populated county. For all the worry about roadblocks, police interference - well, there’s just too much cross-border traffic for that to be possible.

... you can have them donate a portion of everything you buy to Planned Parenthood (among other entities).

It's called Amazon Smile. Google it and then sign up.

All together, $383,622.44 has been donated to PP as of June 2022 (no, that's not all me!).
