10. I've been saying DeSantis since 2020

Trump was finished after January 6th. The committee is putting lighter fluid on the corpse.

All of DeSantis' culture war engagement is precisely calculated for the 2024 nomination. He knows his audience and he knows where he can get the independents. He's reading a very specific room. We haven't been.

Trump preoccupation for the past 18 months is good for media because they're having ratings withdrawals and good for us because he's an easy distraction and punching bag. But we have not been, IMO, paying attention as we should to what DeSantis has been up to or what the GOP strategy is going to be for 2024. They've already been laying it out across the country - and it could work.

DeSantis could win.

What will we do to stop that? I don't know. I guess we'll have that conversation after November. And it won't at all be an easy conversation to have. It'll probably be pretty ugly, in fact.
