He really DID plan on going to the Captol!

Out of everything we just heard, I think that is what surprised me the most. How many of us thought he deliberately lied when he told the MAGAts he going with them? I know I sure did! And why wouldn't he? He lies about everything all the time anyway. This was just one more of many lies, or so I thought.

But now we know he had EVERY INTENTION of going there! He REALLY WANTED to go there, to march into that building like a victorious general leading his troops in an invasion and give a speech on the spot!

He wanted to go SO much that he tried to wrest the steering wheel from his driver when he realized he was being taken back to the White House. (And remember this is a guy who, by all accounts, never ever drives and may not even have a license.) He even tried to strangle a Secret Service agent!

He wanted to go to the Capitol, really, really, REALLY bad, and the only reason he didn't is because other people (the Secret Service, I presume?) stopped him from going! That is blowing my mind, because of what it says about the true extent of his delusions of grandeur!

He thought he could actually go to the Capitol to "look powerful" (❗ , march in there, and... do what, exactly? I'm not sure, except feed his ego and bask in the glow of being surrounded by his loyal warriors who were ready to literally kill people for him.

To me, the truth of what he really wanted to do is much more fucked up than just siccing his attack dogs on Congress and sitting back to see what would happen,, as I originally thought.

I don't have any doubt that he meant every word when he said Pence deserved to be hanged (i.e., murdered). He absolutely meant it, and he was probably very disappointed that it didn't happen. *shudder*

I thought I knew what a monster he was, but this is next level monsterdom. Holy crap!

He thought he was the popular hero and would be hailed and proclaimed as such.

For some reason, I keep thinking of Roman Emperors.

The SS knew he was a danger to himself and others and only when he assaulted his driver and risked the lives of everyone in the limo did they put a stop to it.

"They aren't here for me" Closest thing to a smoking gun yet.
And then TFG suggesting he should pardon everyone to stop the riot.

But I read earlier that his presence is what would have made the 'coup' real, and truly a victory.

I was also surprised at throwing food at the wall and flipping the tablecloth,,, not just once either.

He is the monster/maniac that I always felt he was. His 'energy' was always so unnerving to me.

16. He wanted to be anointed by the rabble on the floor of the House

He wanted that sense of victory surrounded by his ardent fans and armed Praetorian Guard. He wanted to put the fear of God into Mike Pence and anyone else who opposed his elevation to Usurper-in-Chief.

Hail Caesar!

When his plans were thwarted, he tried grabbing the steering wheel of the car he was in, and then lurched for the driver's clavicle/throat. To add madness to mayhem, he tossed his lunch at the wall in a temper fit.

The man is a malignant narcissist who was always, always unfit for the position of President.

The Man Who Would Be Emperor was/is a pathetic cartoon of a Mafia Don.

Let the indictments begin!
