I thought Trump said "I hire only the best people"?

Boy! That is further from the truth? A bunch of cowards who wouldn’t stand up to Trump and manic temper tantrums!

2) His definitely of "best" is very different from normal people. He needs people that are "best" in grifting and performing criminal acts.

I think they thought they would never get any punishment from it (still mostly true for now, I hope it changes soon). And TFG got so used to doing it openly that everyone followed him.
