Never dismiss the idea that true talent can be buried forever due to lack of those elements.

And yes, I do understand the OP, same thought here. She's showing concern, asking them to do something. The world is upside down.

Just pointing that out because she’s not someone who came to the table through nepotism or a powerful alumna network.

She actually started as a WH intern, and was promoted fairly quickly for whatever reason.

She'd worked for Cruz and Scalise before coming over to the White House.

I mean, I'm sure she got there through personal connections. It's not like the Republican party is a meritocracy. But she did get promoted for her competence in each previous job she'd held. It was their error picking someone who still had a fresh recollection of the principles of democracy taught in her college classes.

did you hear others from that circle testify as to her responsibilities? They were speaking up today on CNN.

It was pretty convincing.

I agree with the opinions upthread: it was such a revolving door that it made it possible for her to move into such a position.

Thanks for the link. I'm old and curmudgeonly, but still swayable by facts.

She worked hard to get where she's at. I grant her that. It took courage.

She's still a Republican and a Trumper. I'm glad she did her civic duty. But no parade until she moderates her politics.

Emmaverybo, I am 72 and retired at the end of 2014. I worked for 45 years with college students, and in the later years they all looked like 12-year-olds to me. In fact, anybody under 40 looks like a junior high school kid to me. And yes, that includes a lot of doctors and lawyers and talking heads on TV. The whole time I was watching Cassidy Hutchinson today, I kept thinking, she can't possibly be as young as she looks. Are you and I showing a kind of ageism in those attitudes?

particularly these 20 something’s (looking 12 years old) manage to know what they are talking about. Speed reading? Also so driven, focused. But then their parents started planning out their power careers at 2, reading to them before they were born.

I got the sense that she was an assistant to Meadows, probably one of many in the West Wing, who shuttled between the WH and the Capitol running errands. She just happened to be in the “right” place at the “right” time when all this went down.

… and was brought along to new positions when her bosses moved up. She’s obviously intelligent, poised, presentable. Very likely she knew someone who got her her first interview.

That’s not nefarious — it just highlights some of the advantages in life I never had, and presumably neither did you.
