I just have a feeling about Boebert & MTG

It might also involve some other recent additions to the Republican brain trust too. How did these two numbskulls, a failing restaurnateur and a reporter for an on-line conspiracy theory mill, pop out of nowhere to be members of Congress? Now I know their districts are gerrymandered cespools, but these basically appear out of nowhere spewing the same toxic messages that were spawned from the depths of the troll kingdom. Who put them up to running? Who bankrolled their campaigns? Who's been feeding them their strategy? These morons don't understand the first thing about how government works, yet there they were in the center of a sophisticated conspiracy to overthrow the government that was based on a deep understanding of the soft spots of our electoral system. It just doesn't add up. I don't want to start my own conspiracy, but common sense tells me there's more than meets the eye when both of them show up on the scene the same year. Hopefully one term was enough to expose them-even to their knuckle dragging constituencies. I want to know who is pulling the strings for these two puppets.

Based on this picture, if they stay out of jail, maybe they can do commercials for Hint water and replace the Lemurs. Hey Marjorie, how can our feet look like our hands? You're freaking me out Lauren!

I live in the next district over and I know there was a good effort to get Dems to switch registration to vote against her. No idea how effective it was but… I can still hope

Also, probably subscribes to the theory that a modicum of "atrractiveness" sells the voter population on competence too.

Former Meadows Aide Says Lauren Boebert Was Involved in ‘Early Planning’ of January 6th

BY TARA DUBLIN
APRIL 27, 2022

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former assistant to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, identified Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) as one of a small group of Republican lawmakers who met with Meadows as early as the last week of November 2020 to “raise the idea” of former Vice President Mike Pence intervening to prevent the certification of election results by Congress on January 6, 2021. The ensuing assault on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters that day led to the deaths of five people and Trump’s eventual second impeachment trial.

Hutchinson specifically named Boebert in her testimony before the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol in February. Portions of her testimony were made public this week as part of a legal filing made by lawyers for the committee in a lawsuit brought against it by Meadows in an effort to block several subpoenas.

Boebert has been scrutinized for giving tours of the Capitol to a “large group” of people on the day prior to the insurrection, and for sending tweets that some characterized as relaying “intel” about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s location during the attack. On the morning of January 6th, she tweeted, “Today is 1776.”

Under questioning, Hutchinson recalled several meetings in the weeks after Thanksgiving in which “campaign officials and a few members of Congress” discussed the possibility of Pence aiding an effort to overturn the election results on January 6th. “Mr. Scott Perry, Mr. Jim Jordan… Ms. Marjorie Taylor Greene. and Lauren Boebert are the four members that immediately jump out to me,” Hutchinson said.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.

I think we all, as human beings, naturally default to seeing the way things are, and then we either accept those things, complain about those things, or fight those things.

I try to stay as far away as I can from conspiracy theories, but as I think about this as I am typing, those two people are among the dumbest and most heinous people I've ever seen. Seems kind of unusual that two mind-numbingly stupid people like that made their their way into Congress during the same term.

I would want to think their behavior is merely an act performed in order to distract, but they both have a history.
