WTH???????
Having greater strength against Russia deters Putin and his gangsters from their push to occupy every country in their reach. Everyone else agrees. What does NBC owe to Putin for pushing this kaka?

(33,265 posts)Publishing is not "pushing".

(12,325 posts)And this retired USMC MGySgt says accepting these 2 Nordic countries into the alliance is the right thing to do.
Hell, my opinion is just as valid as his.
I agree, publishing is not pushing, but it can begin to be pushing if he keeps on writing negative opinions on this topic.

(3,971 posts)They just had a retired general on screen speaking in detail about how great this will be, with Joe Scar agreeing.
He spoke about the modern militaries of Sweeden and Finland, and their strategic positions in relation to the arctic and Russia.
They are all for it.

(1,434 posts)Finland and Sweden will be overwhelmingly approved for NATO by the Senate. If you're saying American "oligarchs" are opposed to that then rejoice! the oligarchy has fallen and democracy has once again taken hold in America.

(4,136 posts)Up to now, if a war ever broke out between NATO and Russia, both Finland and Sweden would have been protected by their neutral status.
Sure! Ask Belgium and the Netherlands how their neutral status worked out in WWII. Switzerland only escaped because their banking system helped enable the Nazi regime.

(12,374 posts)This decision is a tremendous sigh of relief to the Baltic nations, and there are a great deal of people who are United States citizens whose ancestry is from Latvia Lithuania and Estonia. Many are still first generation from World War II, and their children and grandchildren retain their traditions and vigorously support their ancestry; Many many more than a handful of people who dont really care.

(14,971 posts)been on Fox News a lot. Particularly the Jesse Watters Show. Why NBC would publish an opinion piece from this right wing hack, I don't know.

(1,384 posts)Defense Priorities, which is....
Allies of Rand Paul, Koch take aim at hawks
Sen. Rand Pauls vision of a less militaristic foreign policy got little traction in the GOP primaries, but some of his key backers are joining forces with associates of billionaire Charles Koch in a fresh effort to steer Washington away from interventions in overseas wars.
Theyre launching a think tank, the Defense Priorities Foundation, that seeks to elevate national security policies that are decidedly out of the mainstream of Republican and even some Democratic foreign policy thinking, featuring a significantly greater reluctance to assert military force or even impose sanctions on nations such as North Korea. The related Defense Priorities Initiative, meanwhile, is designed as the organizations advocacy arm, which will seek to lobby Congress.
Among the architects of the nonprofit are William Ruger, a Navy Reserve officer who is the vice president for research and policy at the Charles Koch Institute. The institute is backed by the billionaire businessman and donor, who along with his brother David has poured millions into conservative political causes that champion lower taxes and lighter regulations.
