question on covid & toddler vaccines

my daughter found a place she can get her 20 month old a vaccine tomorrow (her pediatrician doesn't have them--i digress)

now my daughter has a cough. started last night. they were at an outdoor party/gathering on saturday. no masks. daughter & husband the only ones who put on masks to go inside house/kitchen for food.

i told her to try one of those at home tests--but i know they aren't 100%

if she has something i'm guessing the 20 month old will have it too.

should the baby get a covid test first or just go ahead and get the first moderna vax? i wonder if the baby has covid how would the vaccine effect her on top of that.
