Just heard Cheney speaking to a republican group at the Reagan Library.

She actually received quite an applause saying "republicans cannot be both loyal to Donald Trump and loyal to the US Constitution". It was on Lawrence a few minutes ago.

Cheney and Kinzinger's negatives are sky high among Republicans. No way they become the nominee in 2024.

So no harm in saying they are patriotic and honorable.

The tribalism is too great. If we admire them, by God Rs sure won't.

Kinzinger and Cheney won't get a lot of Dems' votes because their issues are not ones we agree with.

I think even for independents, Cheney is probably too right wing.

are lauded by Dems. I'm sure you saw the ad by Eric Greitens about needing to hunt RINOS.

Probably half of the Rs will continue to hate who TFG hates even after all the evidence against him.

It'd take most Rs voting for them. I can't see it.

Events may change my mind. But at this point I'm not worried. Watching, but not worried.

I could live with that.

Republican ideas and policies have nothing on those of Dems so the competition doesn't worry me.

Plus I suspect she'd be dogged about fixing holes in the law that allowed Trump to get elected in the first place.

which had a live and let live philosophy, is to resurrect or be reborn under a new name, it'll need some folks of principle.

I don't know exactly what refocused and re-energized the Democratic party after missteps in the last part of the 20th century where I thought we went too far to the right (or center in some cases), but the threat to democracy recently has sharpened our focus.
