Cheney, a key member of the Jan. 6 congressional committee who has become one of the faces of the hearings, said in an interview with ABC News to be broadcast Thursday morning that she was absolutely confident in her credibility Im confident in her testimony.
The committees not going to stand by and watch her character be assassinated by anonymous sources and by men who are claiming executive privilege, Cheney said of the former White House aide.
According to several reports citing anonymous sources, the Secret Service agents who would have been in Trumps SUV on Jan. 6, 2021 when Hutchinson testified he lunged at the wheel of the car and the neck of a Secret Service agent after his request to go to the U.S. Capitol was refused have said they were prepared to testify her account wasnt true.
Look, I think what Cassidy Huthinson did was an unbelievable example of bravery and of courage and of patriotism in the face of real pressure, Cheney said in the ABC News interview, a 50-second excerpt of which was published Wednesday night.

These anonymous sources are leaving that detail out.
It makes it even more obvious that Pence was right NOT to get into the car with the SS during the insurection.
Cheney is also right these anonymous sources and MEN who are caliming executive privilege
If they are prepared to testify before the Committee UNDER OATH, then do it already. Cowards

They also report that the important thing is that Trump knew many of his supporters had weapons and he encouraged them, along with the unarmed supporters to march to the Capitol

(36,291 posts)And you said the media doesn't make it clear that Cassidy heard this from a secondary source and I replied that the media does make that clear and that's based on all the news segments covering the story I watched last evening

(16,352 posts)I didn't watch anything other than MSNBC, but I'm glad to hear other news sources were in agreement on this.
If what Cassidy said wasn't accurate, it's because somebody lied to HER. Gee, I wonder who that could have been? One of the people that is now calling her a liar, maybe?

(38,464 posts)...are the Secret Service agents who were in the car with Trump. They're not just liars, they're fully culted. I'd like to see them deny their story under oath.

(51,582 posts)many credible sources before they ever begin to plan who should testify in public. They are 100% sure of everything we have seen and they have tons more info too.
They have to go into all the characters in the war room at the Willard Hotel, all the GQP congresscritters who gave tours, all the Secret Service and other law enforcement enablers, etc. A zillion crimes were committed by many, many people.

(3,471 posts)I mean, if you have a badly-behaved toddler, do you remember every single bit of bad behavior they did a year and a half ago?

(5,838 posts)Who cares about temper tantrums? Not like we didn't already suspect he acts like a spoiled toddler on crack.
This is not the story. THE story is his knowing and encouraging heavily armed and violent insurrectionists to storm the Capitol, further enraging them by calling Pence a coward, and gleefully enjoying the possibility that the mob would spill congressional/VP blood. THAT IS THE STORY. He wanted people to get hurt. "They're not here to hurt ME." The implication is that it's okay for them to hurt Pence and anyone else who wasn't giving the toddler his way, no matter how illegal.
Also? Not one of them will come in under oath to testify to hearsay evidence. It's always so easy to criticize from the sidelines. It's a lot harder to put yourself on the line under oath like Ms. Hutchinson did. And they know it. They know she's got bigger balls (for lack of a better term) than they do and they're ashamed. They won't testify under oath because they're cowards.
Besides, what purpose could it possibly serve for the committee to get derailed in a she said/they said spat? They've got much bigger fish to fry.
So when people start talking about the sensationalist crap, I keep moving the conversation to the orange motherfucker's attempted murder. I know he won't be charged with it but in my mind, it's exactly what he hoped for in sending a heavily armed insurrectionist violent mob to storm the Capitol.

(33,279 posts)It was really fresh, as they had just experienced it, and she was in the circle of trust.
They may have been exaggerating Trump's actions, too. They're denying the grabbing/choking, but are they denying that he wanted to go to the Capitol?

(9,670 posts)To the anonymous tweets and whispered, off-the-record assertions that the news media runs with.
The media gives equal credence to the latter as it does the former, and THAT's why people are misinformed and misdirected.
