Trump and the Secret Service on January 6

I can understand the disarray of the Secret Service with a unified statement about what happened in the Suburban after Trump's "speech" on the Ellipse on January 6.

Secret Service is prepared to protect POTUS from enemies, foreign and domestic. Take a bullet for him/her. But this was new territory. How do you protect POTUS from himself? How do you protect yourself from POTUS?

And then keep the details secret? Whatever information you allow to leak out to the public can be used against protecting future POTUSes.

Not to mention at least one Secret Service agent was unduly loyal to Trump, making his judgment questionable.

Avoiding danger is their job too.

3. "Unduly loyal to Trump." SS is supposed to be loyal to the president. Loyalty

to Trump and loyalty to whoever is the president are two different things.
