To say things are not going well for the GOP right now would undoubtedly be the understatement of the century.
The GOP-led war on women's reproductive rights has resulted in a SCOTUS decision that is so egregious, they just may have handed the Democrats the midterms on that proverbial silver platter.
Never known for their ability to read the writing on the wall, red-state Republicans doubled-down with draconian laws that even the most rabid pro-lifers strenuously object to - like no exceptions for rape and incest.
The January 6 Select Committee continues to expose not only the corruption, depravity, and guilt of Donald Trump in orchestrating a violent insurrection aimed at destroying democracy, but the cowardice of the ass-kissers who encouraged and enabled him.
People like Ron Johnson can't get their stories straight, and RWNJs like Taylor-Greene and Boebert continue to be addle-brained GOP spokes-people whose only real claim-to-fame is being punchlines to every late night TV show monologue.
Trump is still whining like a shit-covered toddler who needs a diaper change (which he probably does), Meadows and Cipillone are still hiding like cockroaches under a tenement sink, and Giuliani is now in you gotta be fucking kiddin' me territory that has rendered his leaking hair dye episode as the high point of his career.
Yes, Karma is a Bitch. But she's more than that - apparently she's a Democratic bitch, ready to kick ass and take names. And her timing is perfect.

(6,254 posts)and the ability of the federal government to enact and enforce regulations that protect our environment and help deal with the climate crisis. Could it be that SCOTUS striking down Roe at this particular time was part of a greater plan to overturn years of precedent in other areas knowing that the public focus would be such that little attention is paid to the other decisions that normally would make headlines.SCOTUS knows Americans have the attention span of a gnat and while people will rage against the ruling in Roe the other extremely significant decisions will get very little attention. It seems like a devious plan years in the making.
However, if that was a plan it was also an overreach. Should it result in a meaningful shift in power. I trust the Democrats to begin restoring what has been defiled in all areas. As they always seem to have to do.
Personally, I am hoping job one would be ending the games and returning the voter to the drivers seat.

Be great if we could pickup 10 Senate seats so we could make some meaningful changes.

Yeah, Cipallone and Meadows are in the witness protection plan. I hope that million dollars that Trump gave Meadows will cover his plastic surgery.

(114 posts)In my 76 years I have never been this uncomfortable about the future of our nation. I intend to vote blue and will encourage as many others as I can do do likewise, but, damn it, I am scared by the violence, hatefulness, myopic dogmatism and illogical rigidity of those who call themselves conservative.
