They have a republican Governor, so both are critical. Leahy's spokes person indicated he plans to

The bigger concern may be when he can physically come to the Senate to vote.

make a full recovery, sowe only have a small window for him to recover quickly enough to at least vote.

Sorry senator. Wishing you a speedy recovery, but if it is the latter than you will have to resign.
(The alternative is to add salmonella or E coli to the soups of the Rs)

My friend in her mid 70's just got hip replacement and I was surprised by how quick she was up. Within a few weeks he should be able to walk with cane or walker.
