Last edited Thu Jun 30, 2022, 03:24 PM - Edit history (1)

and he's only half way through his term. Most are women, Black jurists, and people of color.

But here we are, on DU and elsewhere, freaking out at report about 1 potential, maybe someday appointment because of a potential, maybe, possible, deal with McConnell.

The right knows how to manipulate us. Why do we keep falling for it?

Compared to the RW, we have few people that do the research and go on radio or TV to drive purely partisan messages.

And then we have leas media access too because we have fewer high-visibility media outlets dedicates to helping drive a partisan Democratic message.

My point is, if you want to brag about your accomplishments, you can't rely on people to "do their own research". We have to put the message out there have a coordinated messaging campaign that everyone with -D behind their name is going to drive home.

Surely members of Congress, for example, know how goverment works. And yet we get constant calls from some of them for Pres. Biden to do this or that - things he obviously cannot do. Then their social media followers glom on and continue with the calls for Biden to "do something!!11"

It's a base emotion, easily manipulated by the shameless and then corralled into an attitude of hipster-defeatism.

I think defeatism is not simply misplaced, but also a missed opportunity to engage in proactive actions and reactions.
