(73,419 posts)i've said several times that that $250m was gonna crack a lot of walls. we inherently trust numbers. the kids who heard this and went- and $20 of that came out of dad's ss check- is gonna have a lot more to stand on w that number, and that testimony.

(3,235 posts)Higher prices for everything have probably cut deeply into their pockets - sending $20 to merde-a-lardo or eating this week makes it tough to send a "billionaire" some money.

His narcissism requires him to insist that he is the first, the most, the best, always, at all times, and in every respect.
Didn't he once sue someone for saying he wasn't as rich as he claimed to be (and lose)? It's hard to imagine him pretending to bring in less money than he actually did.

(8,169 posts)my next instinct is that it's all grift for personal and legal fees.
Although, he's such a delusional psychopath he'd also believe he could take that office again.
If he loses the nom, he's got the funds to battle in courts, and since he's gotten away with this kind of grift so far, why not continue?

(13,338 posts)Everyone knows that Trump basically crippled the FEC during his years, and I dont know how its doing under Biden. I think I remember reading a few weeks ago that it is still crippled by the Republicans on the board. If thats the case, Trump knows he can get away with false reporting and skimming lots of money for his personal use.

(3,598 posts)It might be an artifact of Cheato conconcting some new scheme to funnel donations directly into his own pockets while keeping the money completely off the books.

...Trump's base will go down to 20% from 30%...maybe less.
...This is not the worst news that Trump will hear. Far worse is coming! (my opinion & others too)

Having a malignant clown at the head of the parade does not serve the politicians and billionaires pushing the ideology. The J6 committee has revealed the former Administration as inept, seditious, vile grifters.

(3,227 posts)The first link, to AP News, consists in its entirety of one quote about fundraising: "Trump reported raising nearly $9 million in March and April combined. Figures for May and June were not yet available, but aides to the former president say his fundraising has remained strong."
The second link goes to Taegen Goddard's Political Wire, but the "article" there consists of just this same single sentence. It also has a link to Associated Press, but that goes back to the original AP News link and sentence.
So there's nothing substantial yet to back up what would be an amazingly abrupt pre-hearing drop-off in funding. I'm not buying it yet.

(19,994 posts)The original read: "Meanwhile, Trumps fundraising has fallen off dramatically over the last two months. He reported raising just over $19,000 in May and June combined after taking in nearly $9 million in March and April."

(7,794 posts)Cancelling the unintended "perpetual" donations clause created by Trump's "fine print" may have recently become effective, finally allowing donors to get off Trump's grift list. Trump may even be required to refund a lot of (or more than) the $250,000,000.00 when this dust settles.
I sincerely wish him and his cohorts all the bad luck they so richly deserve.

He is friendly with world dictators
He built or rebuilt part of a wall and no Mexico didn't pay for it
He constantly owned the libs
He got 3 known political hacks on the SC by two votes each time.
He created the big lie and his clones believe every word and give him money ????
He created a sedition plan and almost made it happen and has been doing massive fundraising off this lie ????
He did untold damage to this country which we won't find out for 50 years
