Wait for video of interview (preview only) that will load in black banner area to the right of above head/byline. Excerpt from accompanying article:
When asked directly if Donald Trump or people in his inner circle should face criminal charges, Walsh said, I do.
He elaborated: I think it would traumatic for the country, but he doesnt have the good sense not to run again. I think he needs to be prevented from running again.
It would be really ugly if he were charged but I think he should be, said Walsh.
Walsh said hed worry about public violence from Trump loyalists, but we have to protect this democracy. Thats the most important thing.
The Walsh family is a 3-generation political dynasty in Central New York. The current mayor of Syracuse, Ben Walsh, is former Congressman Walsh's son and is an Independent.

(1,671 posts)negative opinion of tRump. I will update my OP if I do.
I'm hoping that similar things are going on in other places across the country. We'll be using this locally, as it gives permission for area republicans to reject Trump cult candidates ..... in this case, one going for re-election in the House. While it is important that others at more of the national level do, too, having a local respected republican say this is indeed fucking huge.
