I was planning to make my 60,000th post an OP but I missed it!
Watched for it all morning too.
So for my magic 60,000th comment wish, I wish...
That by this time next year, we will have ousted the unAmericans from our government and are well on our way to righting the ship so we can try and save ourselves from ourselves.
And maybe the planet will renew our lease instead of evict us.

It's easy to get off on a thread and forget what you were thinking a little while prior.

(205,311 posts)And how many of us have done the same thing?? LOL. I remember one milestone, maybe 10,000, where I didn't post for days, waiting to make just the right post!
And it still counts! Here's to 60,000! Great message! And here's to 60,000 more!

(86,581 posts)You provide me with so much news and entertainment, I don't know what I'd do if you weren't here posting all those great videos!!

(205,311 posts)As you know, I figure that most DUers don't stay up as late as I do and I know that some don't have cable, or even TV, so I try to make it a point to share the news I watch - or the late night guys that also keep us all entertained!
Thanks so much for the kind words and for being such a good friend... And a terrific DUer!

(86,581 posts)I hoping for all of us... I"m getting old so I'm not going to see most of the benefits but I hope everyone else who will be around will have a better chance at it than we can imagine right now.
I think hoping puts energy to the concept so I will do that, among other things.

(86,581 posts)I do post a lot of "+1" and "K&R" only posts so that accounts for most of it. For those, I just don't have anything to add to a good comment/post.
Obviously, I spend a lot of time here. It's good therapy.

(86,581 posts)I'm humbled but I know I'm not the lone ranger around here so I am glad to see that some of my neighbors are here too! I sure am glad that there are several others from our fine state on DU, it says something about a so-called red states with a small population.
Do you ever go to the Folk Festival in Butte America?
MontanaMama
(23,313 posts)before Covid. What a good time it is
well produced and well attended. Youd almost never known we were a red state. Hope some day we arent. Are you going?
2naSalit
(86,581 posts)I would but I'm not ready for big crowds yet.
I agree, that's one of the best music festivals I've ever been to. It's hot out and having many places to get int the shade yet see lots of shows is fantastic. I went once, for the whole thing, in 2018, it was really fun and the music was great. I had been hearing about it every year but always had to work and it was bit of a drive to go in between shifts.
Red Ants Pants used to be a good thing, I hear, but now it's just a gig in a big dusty field, I hear, so that's probably one I would never bother with, I can't handle the heat/sun anymore.
There are some smaller bluegrass things that used to happen around these parts every August but I'm not sure they'll have them anymore, some of the elders who ran them aren't with us anymore.
Right now we've got the rodeo on top of an art festival this weekend. I'm staying home and planting flowers.
