THOUGHTS & PRAYERS! Repubs worry Trump announcing 2024 run "could hurt them in the midterms!"

Oh dear GOD, no. If they don't take back the House and Senate, they can't take Social Security and Medicare away from us! THEN what will we DO?

Trump thinks announcing a 2024 run now could distract from the January 6 hearings, a report says. Some Republicans worry he could hurt them in the midterms.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-thinks-announcing-2024-run-012909372.html

Trump could be planning to make an unusually early announcement of his plans to run for president, but not all Republicans are convinced it would be the right move for the party.

Trump has long teased a 2024 White House run and has continued to hold campaign-style rallies, all while stopping short of saying definitively if he plans to enter the race. However, recent revelations from the House Select committee's hearings on the January 6 insurrection are impacting his plans, according to a report from The New York Times.

Now, Trump is considering announcing a run far earlier than expected, possibly even this month, in part as an attempt to distract from the hearings, the outlet reported.

The January 6 hearing this week featured allegations that were especially damaging to Trump, including explosive testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, who at the time of the Capitol attack was the top aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

And they've chosen a rather ugly one at that! The more damage done to these losers, the better!

They want to repeal the new deal. The whole of it - social security, medicare/medicaide, welfare, unemployment assistance, minimum wage, etc, etc.

They will start by eliminating mandatory deductions and forcing control of services back to states; with no federal oversight or regulation.

They could even let slavery slip back in through indentured service. Poor houses, chain gangs, forced labor.

the qop doesn't need control of the legislature and potus for that.

They need it to codify their dogma nationally. Can't have blue states exerting their rights to allow abortion.

I heard that this morning. It seems that Trump believes that by announcing, he creates a legal defense. Asswipe. The republicans own him, as much as he owns them. And it will hurt them come November.

he is toast. Yeah, sure he'll get a large share of votes (but nowhere near what he got before, voter fatigue on all things tRUMP is settling in), and he'll lose again, by a bigger margin, if he runs again.

I suspect that he's not going to run (on a serious basis) but he wants to suck up all of the money that he can, since he's already scammed a ton of money already, w/o working for it.

This will continue to hurt the repugs and their trajectory will continue downhill since tRUMP is sucking up all of the money and stealing it for his own nefarious purposes, such as propping up his failing businesses. I still laugh when he claimed he was worth $6.3 billion dollars. What a joke, what a farce, and also, prove it.

I suspect that Garland will make some sort of move (and I wish that he would soon) against all of tRUMP's crimes. Why is it taking so damn long? It's amazing that the newscasts, the J6 committee, those that he's been accused of raping, and tons of people that worked w/ his businesses (describing his shady business deals) all have been showcasing his crimes, but the Federal govt hasn't (and they prosecuted tons of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, etc.

Consider the case of Al Capone. It took nine years to even find a federal crime to hang on him, and two years after that to solidify the case against him.

even after he lost the last presidential election. The more they praise him, the more they condemn themselves. And it's going to get worse for them as more and more evidence of his perfidy becomes public knowledge.
