to get it.

So far we've avoided getting infected. And want to keep it that way.

the booster in the autumn will give immunity to Omicron, I'm thinking I might just be really careful for another two months and get the booster in September.

Quick, free and despite minor discomfort (I had my 1st Covid arm after the 2nd booster), it's certainly better than risking Covid and long-term implications.

Never had any reaction to the Moderna shots and never infected so far. We are retired, so it's easier for us than for some people to limit out exposure. I'll be 69 in a few weeks, my wife is 72 and has asthma. She also has never been infected.

I'll get another in the fall if the CDC recommends it. I have no health issues, but I'm 73. I get no side effects from the shots outside of a sore arm for one or two days. I've been Covid free but then again I tend to be a bit of an introvert, so I don't do large crowds.

And my understanding is the protection from those strains is much lower, perhaps only 15-20% (UK data)

I’m still getting mine.

since April there is no real world evidence that the vaccines and boosters are not effective against it.
But you aren't required to believe real world evidence.

flight coming up in September. I wanted to get the boost closer to our trip. Then on Tuesday our son started feeling bad. Wednesday he tested positive. Kicking myself for waiting. So far the rest of the family is fine. Tested today and still not showing up positive. Our son lives with us but thankfully we did not spend much time with him right before he got sick. He was working long hours leading up to illness. I think he caught it at the barber shop or when he ate dinner in a restaurant with his friends.
