People with "family values" do not force children to give birth to their father's baby.
People with "Christian beliefs" do not force a woman to carry her rapist's child.
People with "morals" do not force any woman to relinquish autonomy over her own body.
People with "principles" do not force anyone to do anything that is detrimental to their own wellbeing.
No one should be forced to accept any ruling that emanates from a SCOTUS that includes justices whose "values" permit perjuring themselves to attain their position, whose "religious beliefs" lead them to override the Constitutionally-guaranteed separation of Church and State, whose "morals" allow them to put the lives of women and female children at risk, and whose "principles" are based on arrogantly advancing a political agenda that is contrary to the will of the vast majority of the American people.
It appears that the GOP has determined that placing immoral, unprincipled, perjurers on the Supreme Court - including a drunk, a Handmaid, and a man who refuses to recuse himself when his own wife is involved in the case before him - is a brilliant political strategy.
I hope this is the hill they're willing to die on - because I believe it will turn out to be exactly that.

Thing is - these think pieces of yours are SOOOO useful to give the rest of us more ideas of HOW TO SAY this stuff, and SPEAK THESE TRUTHS in compelling and memorable - and effective ways. The more eloquent, catchy, and memorable you make your points, the easier they are to utter and share and spread, and the deeper they cut.

(27,814 posts)I'm strictly a cut-and-paste writer, meaning that whatever 'skill' lies behind my scribblings is merely an ability to listen to what others are saying and (hopefully) compiling their thoughts and ideas into a cohesive message.
I am only as good a writer as those who inspire me - and there is no end to that inspiration here on DU.
Thank you for seeing me through such kind eyes.
