The non sequitur reference to govt corruption suggests to me they think this young white man must be "anti government," that is, rightwing.
I don't know, but this wouldn't be the first Trumper candidate to try to amplify a killer's message.

(6,235 posts)Are the republicans moving out of Illinois?
They said, "now lets move on". Well, do it! Move on!
The bodies aren't cold yet and they're politicizing this horrific shooting.
We need a national gun policy that actually addresses the problem of easy access to incredibly powerful guns with almost no restrictions whatsoever.
Less than a hour ago, I posted a statistic from the pew institute that indicated we have over 45 thousand gun related deaths in the United States each year:
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2022/02/03/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/
That's over 123 deaths each day. But I guess if republicans aren't going to take the 1000's of deaths each day at the height of the pandemic seriously, they're not going to be concerned about a "mere" 123 gun deaths per day.
