(130,533 posts)just on the basis of their political affiliation? Isn't what TFG and other GOPers tried to do to Hunter Biden? The father might have some moral responsibility depending on what he actually taught him - which we don't know - but his son is an adult and is responsible for his own crimes.

(617 posts)We are more concerned with "individualism"...some theorize this is one factor as to why mass shooting do not occur as often in countries like the Philippines even though guns are prevalent there.

(617 posts)I said the concept of "family shame" is strong in Asia and that in the US there is a stronger emphasis on the individual.

(130,533 posts)and the widespread availability of all kinds of guns is obviously the big one but it's not the only one. Family shame or the lack of it might be a factor but in this particular case we don't know anything yet.
