I'm sitting in Challis, waiting for the snow to melt in the high country so that I can get into my lookout to start protecting public lands from wildland fire. This asshole and his family and buddies think public lands are theirs.
He was campaining in the little restaurant where I often eat, and where I was planning to get a take-out salad to go with frozen pizza tonight. Literally 30 yards behind my cabin.

(18,880 posts)one of those whacko who believe no laws apply to them because they say so?
I know he's a world class asshole who the government should have imprisoned long, long ago. I just sorta' wondered why he thinks he's not subject to the same laws as everyone else.

(11,242 posts)I dont understand why they didnt immediately kill all the Bundy psychos the second they pointed their guns at the Feds.
I do understand actually.
I think we need to go back to dealing with these assholes with more of a Waco/Ruby Ridge mentality.

(50,447 posts)that Bundy and Constitution Party candidate Chantyrose Davison (who is in DIRE need of a brain transplant and a website that doesn't look thirty years out of date) manage to split the GOP vote enough to put Democrat Stephen Heidt, who is both a National Guard veteran and a graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, into the governor's mansion.

(86,031 posts)They would have to leave the state.
Hell, I remember voting for Cecil Andrus to elect him for his last term. He was the last decent governor the state has had.

(86,031 posts)One of the reasons I don't live in Idaho anymore, folks who are into his brand of weird. Now it seems like they're everywhere.
There's a guy up in that area, actually in Stanley, that is right up this clown's alley, used to run a trashy little cabin/rafting/guiding business on the edge of town, might not be around anymore but, man, I had some run-ins with that guy.
I always won the argument but just having to go through the mental anguish of interacting with his incredibly ignorant pretzelogic was enough to destroy a good afternoon and then some.
The joker with the RV reminds me of that bully from way back when.
Enjoy your tour of duty up in the tower, it's a beautiful summer over here, rains nearly every afternoon so far, the river is still near flood stage and we'll be cleaning up after the actual flood for years, but everything is so green for once. And no smoke yet!

(18,880 posts)It's thinking like that which will make him a fine Governor of Idaho.
If it were parked anywhere near my house that rig would have a few flat tires if it remained there after dark. Strange things happen after the sun goes down.

(50,447 posts)Idaho has, over the last twenty years or so, seen an influx of Californians moving up here. There's this misguided belief those people are bringing "liberal California values" to Idaho.
The problem with that belief is the Californians moving up here are people who wouldn't have voted for Ronald Reagan and Howard Jarvis because they were too liberal. These people are OUT THERE!
So...you have people wanting to "keep Idaho Idaho" to protect us from the liberal Californians, when what we need is to be protected from the extremist nuts fleeing one of the few good states there are.

(6,010 posts)Im so tired of all their bitching about how horrible it is here in CA. So long, suckers!
I honestly think Idaho is a lost cause. There are just too many whackos moving up there and a lot of ultra-right wingers trying to take over the local and state governments there.
