(7,681 posts)We have a politics-in-money problem, not money-in-politics. Business is cheating, naturally corrupt. (For you, I make no profit!) its acceptable.
Lawmakers are supposed to be truthful.
Politicians sticking their nose in business markets is the problem. The permanent laws they create dont regulate, they steer money in a corrupt way to business that ultimately favors themthrough donations or grandstanding popularity. They arent helping business, theyre speed bumps.

(457 posts)I think I remember, a thing called 'Citizens United'. Passed by the 'extreme court', maybe 20 years ago. Enough said.

(29,241 posts)They started down the path to today in the seventies. That all dysfunction in politics is only because of money is a simplistic populist thing. If Citizens United was repealed tomorrow Republicans would be exactly the same.
