Dear Dems and Progressives ...
The opponent is Republicans, the GQP, and Trumpanistas.
NOT President Biden.
Your anger and criticism should be directed at those who are holding up Biden's agenda.

This "Dems vs Progressives War" is fake news. The reality is "Repukes + Sinema/Manchin vs Biden"

(61,033 posts)Here's a brief excerpt:
Do not post disrespectful nicknames, insults, or highly inflammatory attacks against any Democratic public figures. Do not post anything that could be construed as bashing, trashing, undermining, or depressing turnout for any Democratic general election candidate, and do not compare any Democratic general election candidate unfavorably to their general election opponent(s).
Look at the near bottom of every DU OP post as there's a link there listing the DU terms of service.

(12,533 posts)Here we are. Just read an article about a number of Dem activists upset that POTUS wasn't muscular enough in his comments on the Roe overturn, that he wasn't specific in what he would do to ameliorate the situation and/or waited too long to give his reaction, yada, yada.
I sometimes wonder if the reported quotes from Dems are actually Republicans stirring the pot, agitating.
I thought the speech Friday was fiery, emotional, on point. As for what the President can do? He's limited at the moment but the EO is a good step forward. As for specifics? Some of the Dems I heard on panels are sounding as if there's a magic wand to wave that President Biden refuses to utilize and are annoyed that the call to action to . . . vote is somehow lame, a cop-out because they already voted in 2020 and things aren't getting done, promises have been broken.
Yeah, okay. I'm annoyed, too. But with a razor thin majority, two Democratic Senators who stamp their feet and say 'no, no, no, while lobbyists whisper in their ears and Mitch McConnell more than willing to block anything looking like a Biden agenda, let alone save the day on abortion rights, we are where we are.
The real specific is in the voting: Hold the House and vote in two more Democratic Senators, men or women who are staunchly Pro-Choice, push through a filibuster carve out and the President can protect women's rights and privacy. Even Manchin is now claiming (maybe pretending) he's had a come to Jesus moment and would vote for a carve-out on reproductive rights.
We shall see. But it all starts with the votes in November.
We want women's liberty and dignity protected? Then we need to help the President make that happen.

(8,295 posts)Biden is doing his utmost. One person cannot do everything. We must give him more Democrats in Congress.
My thought is Biden is so pro-worker, pro-union, pro-regular person that the Corporate Media (and the GQP) who do the bidding of the uber-wealthy, are feeling threatened.

(27,248 posts)Just graduated college Wont vote for President Biden again and blames him for the problems in this country. She might sit out the November election. My sister in law told she needs to vote no matter what and vote Democratic. This young woman stands to lose her reproductive rights where she lives in Arizona.
I get so mad at people who only look at the surface of an issue and not look into further.

(90,021 posts)Just STOP it! And YES, I'm SHOUTING!!!
Dems, GET BEHIND BIDEN!!! He's our President, forcryingoutloud, and he's doing a LOT of good things! And he's propelled toward that by having his heart in the right place.
Frankly, it leaves me absolutely boiling mad to see all this picking on him, especially when it comes from purported "friendlies".
All it does is hobble him, and weaken our case for electing more Dems!
Get started TALKING HIM UP, if you haven't already!!!
He's better than ANYBODY the bad guys have warming up in the bullpen, from trump to DeSantis and whoever else in the GOP who fancies himself as White House-worthy.
We need to appreciate Joe Biden. More. Louder. Wider. Broader. IN PUBLIC, And with MUCH Greater Frequency.

(27,749 posts)yet solved every problem facing us right now. They say they are "tired" of hearing how important voting is right now. There is sometimes a lack of realism on the left, as there is on the right. We have to keep repeating the message the best we can.
