Not yet old enough to vote, but cut school in the spring to work for the McGovern campaign, then bummed a ride to the convention.

I still remember the victory party at the Dural Hotel after the Senator officially won the nomination as one of the best in my life. We felt sure history was on our side.

And then it all fell apart.
