Pete Buttigieg utterly destroys Fox News host for whining about Kavanaugh protests

Snip

"You're never going to be free from criticism or peaceful protests, people exercising their First Amendment rights," the Transporation secretary pointed out.

Snip

"Not only the right to choose by the way," Buttigieg continued, "but this justice was part of the process of stripping away the right to privacy. Since I've been alive, settled case law in the United States has been that the Constitution protected the right to privacy and that has now been thrown out the window by justices, including Justice Kavanaugh, who as I recall, swore up and down in front of God and everyone including the United States Congress that they were going to leave settled case law alone. So yes, people are upset. They're going to exercise their First Amendment rights."

"Compare that, for example, to the reality that as a country right now we are reckoning with the fact that a mob summoned by the former president to the United States Capitol for the purpose of overthrowing the election and very nearly succeeded in preventing the peaceful transfer of power," he argued. "I think common sense can tell the difference."

Snip

"That's what happened in this case," he explained. "Remember, the justice never even came into contact with these protesters, reportedly didn't see or hear them. And these protesters are upset because a right, an important right that the majority of Americans support was taken away."

to watch and listen to him. I far more believe him that I do than the endless harpies singing on faux news.

I hope that one day, perhaps, he'll run for a higher office, I think that he'll do good, despite the anti-gay rhetoric that is still out there darkening our landscape.

Fox News being "destroyed" this way does not hurt their bottom line at all.

They don't mind if you don't like them as long as you watch them.

He pointed out the facts in a very detailed and intelligent way. But he did not go after Fux itself and the bullshit they spewed out.

Unfortunately, once more, the people who need to hear this are the ones who will not.

I used to get annoyed by this clickbaity style. Everyone's getting totally destroyed, eviscerated, decimated, etc., for making a fairly calm and cogent argument.

Everything is increasingly being promoted like a WWE bout.

I think the title of my post is what I most urgently want to see in this life.

What I really want is for everything to just start being weirdly sexual. "Kevin McCarthy gently strokes Mitch McConnell on tax agreement!" "Prescription drug bill unacceptable, Joe Manchin seductively coos."

I think online writers should really run with their literary selves. Lean into how stupid it sounds. Use anything with Fabio on the cover for guidelines on structure and form.

Buttigieg did not "utterly destroy" Fox "News"; Fox is like cockroaches. He presented a beautifully rational, logical rebuttal, as he always does, which was probably lost on Fox' knucklehead audience. But Raw Story sucks, too.

21. Buttigieg: US may act against airlines on consumers' behalf

https://apnews.com/article/pete-buttigieg-government-and-politics-airlines-transportation-c3ebc7fbe4bcfb6402e67e0d626365a0

The day after Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg met with airline leaders to quiz them about widespread flight disruptions, his own flight was canceled and he wound up driving from Washington to New York.

“That is happening to a lot of people, and that is exactly why we are paying close attention here to what can be done and how to make sure that the airlines are delivering,” Buttigieg told The Associated Press in an interview Saturday.

Buttigieg said he is pushing the airlines to stress-test their summer schedules to ensure they can operate all their planned flights with the employees they have, and to add customer-service workers. That could put pressure on airlines to make additional cuts in their summer schedules.

Buttigieg said his department could take enforcement actions against airlines that fail to live up to consumer-protection standards. But first, he said, he wants to see whether there are major flight disruptions over the July Fourth holiday weekend and the rest of the summer. Enforcement actions can results in fines, although they tend to be small. Air Canada agreed to pay a $2 million fine last year over slow refunds.

Please do tell what else he has not measured up to your standards at.

His job though as transportation secy has not been stellar.

Destroyed would be if Pox Noise were finally yanked off the air - permanently.

THAT’S the “destroyed” that I want.

As long as they’re allowed to stay on the air, picking scabs til the wounds become infected and the damage spreads, we’re pretty much screwed.
