I thought it was interesting and well done.
There were no "blockbuster revelations" - and I'm not sure why anyone thought there would be - but I digress.
It moved back and forth in time - footage of a young Trump was tied-in nicely to who he eventually became, and why.
In interviews with the kids - Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric - they come off as truly self-delusional, re-inventing their childhood years as being raised by a doting, supportive father who showered them with attention despite his busy business schedule. I say self-delusional because their anecdotes did not sound like "lies to make daddy look good" so much as having convinced themselves that daddy really WAS a great dad.
They also demonstrate themselves to be vacuous, not terribly smart (no surprises there), and totally bereft of even an inkling of what life is like in the real world - IOW, your typical kool-aid guzzling supporter.
Trump's obsession with "brand" is driven home, and how his children were used as part of promoting the "brand" during his campaigns and while in office.
All in all, I found it to be a fascinating glimpse into a totally dysfunctional family, and how that dysfunction was ultimately marketed to the masses.
Just my take ... YMMV.

(15,290 posts)the documentary was meant to be flattering to Trump. Not surprising that it is.
The 98+ hours of what was left on the cutting room floor is what interests the J6 committee as well as whatever footage shows Trump knew he lost the election, his actions afterwards and what he was doing on Jan 6th.

(27,820 posts)... "flattering to Trump", it failed miserably.
He is portrayed as a man obsessed with image, and completely bereft of substance.
I can't imagine anyone watching it thinking it was "flattering" by any measure.

(15,290 posts)different from what Trump and his kids took away. They likely thought the documentary was great and showed them in a good light.

(51,642 posts)a glass of water being in view and Ivanka getting her hair combed and a huge fake smile. That is all need to see. No surprises in this film. I'm glad you watched it for me. It's sort of like watching Fux, I just can't stand more than 30 seconds.

(27,820 posts)Admittedly, my curiosity got the better of me - so I watched it.
It turned out to be a living testament to how things like Trump talking about a glass of water and Ivanka getting her hair combed were exactly what appealed to the brainless masses.

They feature a lot of 'true crime' shows, of which she and I are fans.
So when I learned they were airing "Unprecedented", I figured why not watch it.
I'm glad I did - it fit right in with their other 'true crime' fare.

(1,153 posts)I have no doubt that it was Trump`s plan to take over total and complete control as a dictator if the insurrection was successful. He and his family would then rule over the country for years.

(58,785 posts)I won't pay for what's described, though I would like to see what the tRumps apparently assumed presented them as they wish to be seen. And I'm looking forward to anything the J6 committee might think we should see.
