Man I miss Eric Boehlert

Eric Boehlert was a master at analyzing the mainstream media. Miss his weekly analysis. There's other journalists who critique the media but Eric was unique. He'd be going nuts right now commenting on the way the press is attacking Biden and how much they miss Trump.

His last column for his Press Run site before he died was one of his best. Basically not much has changed since April. The press continues to root against Biden.

Closest thing I've found to Eric's work is Dan Froomkin's Press Watch. And there's a Twitter parody account called New York Times Pitchbot which ridicules their "Dems in disarray" headlines.

...formerly of WaPo, now writes media criticism called "press watchers" and is also on twitter @froomkin.

Good guy, hard-hitting when necessary.

She was already fighting this battle right along with Eric for years. They were good friends, apparently.

I made sure to listen to him. I miss his insight so much. He had such an articulate take on the bias in this media. I really miss his voice!

When I heard he died I cried. He was my favorite whenever he came on MSNBC also.

He was so good on the Stephanie Miller show she would often comment he was the only one keeping her sane during the Trump era. I felt the same way.

Has anyone seen a report from NJ transportation authorities or police on exactly how he came to be hit by a train while riding his bike?

Asking for a journalist and all his friends and readers.

The reporter is on the scene and interviewed people connected to Eric Boehlert.

Saddened to learn so many train-pedestrian fatalities are suicides.

Glad to know journalists filed FOIA requests for accident reports and that are still waiting.

There was a girl who, in a hurry to get tot he platform, didn't see the oncoming train. When she did, she tripped. A medevac helicopter came to get her to help quickly, but she perished before she arrived at the hospital.

Prior to that I worked for a Class One railroad. Over 97% of the deaths were crossing incidents or trespassers getting hit. Tracks are a dangerous place to be and a dangerous place to get distracted.
