Wasn't Trump still President on January 6 2021? Weren't his minions in charge of security? Wasn't Pence giving orders to the national Guard? I recall that there were messages about the conflict of giving orders to National Guard. Since it was the Capitol, aren't DC police under the direction of Federal officials? Don't DC police have to wait for orders or requests from the Feds before marching on the Capitol? Certainly the military are under the direction of the administration in power. Also so are Capitol Police under the authority of the leadership of the administration still in office?

The Capitol police are controlled by the Sgt. at Arms of the House (?).

National Guard are military under state charge unless a national event takes place causing the CIC/Pentagon to relegate them to service under federal charge.

Upper echelon at the Pentagon were replaced with unqualified cronies, including Mike Flynn's brother, a week or two prior to Jan. 6th in order to withhold orders to protect Congress and were alleged to be preparing to protect the insurrectionists instead.

The committee hasn't even touched on that part yet so I hope they will address this in future hearings.
