Thanks for keeping this site going and all that you do. I know site traffic must be going up on a daily basis as we approach the election. And the site remained operational throughout the storm when it seemed even the Internet in general had trouble staying functional.

And more importantly, thank you for what this site has done for the party, for the progressive movement, and for being the real fact-checker for the RW-bs machine. Sites like DU represent the new "Fourth Estate" as the media fails to remain objective and honor its role in our culture and society.

I have been a member for a while now. About four and a half years, five if you count the fact I couldn't remember my screen name after a six month leave to care of hubby. But through it all I appreciated the site because even though I thought I knew quite a bit about myself and my views on politics I always knew that there were more things to learn if I were going to be an effective change in my community. And thanks to DU I have been able to succeed with more knowledge and grace to accomplish that goal.
