Our elected officials break the law constantly with no recourse no nothing so are they setting an example for the general public ?
Many will take the attitude of if I won't get caught I'm going for it, why not the lawmakers do it.
Just my opinion.

(17,757 posts)Once you attain a certain social, political or economic status, you are immune, unless of course, you offend someone of higher status then you are. There is a reason that poor people populate the prisons. Trump, for instance, has been able to buy his way out of his crimes for decades.
