From the following AP article entitled "Biden vowing 'strong' climate action despite dual setbacks":

"The Supreme Court last month limited how the nations main anti-air pollution law can be used to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. Then late Thursday, Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., said he wants to delay sweeping environmental legislation that Democrats have pushed as central to achieving Bidens ambitious climate goals."
"If the Senate will not act to address climate change and boost clean energy, I will take strong executive action to meet this moment,? Biden said in a statement from Saudi Arabia"

I for one am glad to see President Biden go this route. If Trump had his stupid wall built with an Executive Order, then Biden has every right to use all power available to him as President to address the existential crisis facing humanity.
If 50 repubs & 1 turncoat are going to hold not only America but the world hostage, then Biden should simply rule by EO - just like Trump did. But in this case it would be for the good of humanity.
Doesn't matter if it gets fought or overturned in the long run, Biden can simply reissue more EO's.
Going into the midterms it would shoot down McTurtle's & some MSM outlet's false narrative about 'do-nothing Dems'
So damn the torpedoes, let those EO's fly!

(15,658 posts)Trumps EO to build his wall was largely unsuccessful. It was tied up in court for years, and only resulted in 47 miles of the wall being built, out 1300 miles of unwalled border land.
Trumps EO redirected previously allocated military construction funds for border security.
How would Biden access funds via EO to fight climate change?

2) As for funding for it, the answers are all avail in wikipedia:

3) The fact that it's not complete, or will be overturned, is beside the point (and the latter I already mentioned in my OP). The point is to show action before the midterms.
4) Bye now.

(84 posts)Not sure what he could do. Trump found a loophole.
For better or worse, the pattern of judge shopping/national injunction has been established.
Real curious what EO's OP think would survive 24 hours.

(53 posts)and since he is more of an expert in such matters than this poster, you'd have to ask him.
And regardless of whether his propose EO's (the content of which remain to be seen) last 24 hrs or 24 years,
my point was to be shown to be doing something before the midterms.
Anything that gets overturned is then on the R's - not dems - of which they will hopefully face the consequences in the midterms.
And Biden is doing exactly that, which is the right thing to do IMHO - and which was the point of my post.
