Not a fan of the Texas Panhandle but

I thank whichever God is out there that we are NOT on that ERCOT bullshit grid. So I gotta give credit to this part of the state who decided to stay on the national grid. Its gonna hit 107 Tuesday here in Amarillo.

I remember during the MEGAFREEZE that Lubbock was just fine and it gets cold as a well diggers butt there in the winter.

My cousin was a PCP there for about 30 years. They retired to Marble Falls a few years ago.

I was seriously afraid she’d ‘turn Republican’ working for law enforcement in Texas, but she’s so pro-choice and anti-insanity that I’m safe! 😂
She’s 34, been in law enforcement there for 13 or 14 years… and she loves her job

Southwestern Public Service …

That was in the 70s-90s … at least when I was there … was a pretty good electric service provider

I'm a tad jelly, but happy for you all the same!

I'm in central Texas and have an RV and a generator as a backup. Still waiting on my Generac install for the whole house.

I live in El Passo and we are closer to four state capitals than our own. (New Mexico, Sonora, Chihuahua. Arizona) Both El Paso Gas and El Paso Electric have been the main suppliers for New Mexico for many years. Same with the panhandle. Actually, because of their small population density and the long distance to the oil town of Houston the only they to get power was to be part of the same grid as El Paso.

Gerrymandering USA about the town of Denton, north of Dallas, which has two colleges and many wonderful diverse people, mostly young who work so hard caring for each other and keep a caring community voting and electing liberal leaders. More like Austin than the rest of TX but the TX Republicans legislators just gerrymandered the downtown of Denton out of the district where the colleges and diverse and liberals live and vote. My grandchildren live there and I am dismayed that these awful Repubs are destroying the best places in the country.

First, there was a hell of a lot less Texas to go through on I 40 than on I 10. Second, there was a fajita joint on the interstate that perfumed the air with garlic for miles. I always stopped there.

El Paso is also on the western grid, not ERCOT (Elected Republicans Conning Ordinary Texans). It seems the only 2 parts of Texas I ever had much use for saw ERCOT coming and said no thanks.
