HAMDEN — Police arrested a New Haven man after they say he was reported to have drawn a gun Saturday over two women not thanking him for holding a door open for them.

Hamden police said 25-year-old Joshua Murray was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, a felony; along with misdemeanor charges of interfering with an officer and two counts of second-degree breach of peace.

Hamden police officers were called to the Family Dollar store on Dixwell Avenue around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday after Murray was reported to have pointed a gun at customers in front of the business, police said.

“A witness reported that the suspect was upset that two woman did not say ‘thank you’ to him for holding a door open for them,” police said.

It's a good thing he had his piece with him so he could teach those uppity women a thing or two about manners. And for that he gets a felony charge?! Well, let's hope that it's busted down to a misdemeanor so he doesn't lose his right to carry. A guy like that really needs an equalizer handy while going about his daily business, for reasons that I think should be obvious.

Jeebus fuck. I can't even imagine how fucking fragile these people are. They oughta be locked up because they present a public danger.

I hold doors open for men, women, children. Never considered being offended to the point of violence if no one thanked me. I usually just go on my way knowing I was kind enough to be helpful.

Joshua Murray grow up and lose your macho behavior. It will only continue to get worse for you if you don't don't.

seems the politeness has to be forced at the barrel of the gun.

Sort of like how they conveniently leave off the first clause of the second amendment.

The only thing that'll stop a guy with bad manners is a guy with good manners - and a gun.

are white men killing themselves, mostly with their own guns.

Honestly, sometimes I wish they would just speed it up.
