The last two Presidential elections have been decided by razor thin margins. Any spoiler candidate on the Republican side could easily tip the scales to our favor even if they only managed to siphon off a percent or two from Trump.

Liz used to be anti-gay rights, (or at least against equal marriage rights) but her own sister has changed her mind.

She tossed her under the bus once for her political career. They made amends. Glad to see she is sticking to it.

She said in 2021 that her position was "wrong." It's unclear if she meant morally or politically.

I am happy for her vote on this. I am happy for her work to uncover Jan 6th information. It's difficult for me to applaud her for the occasional moments she does the right thing, though, as mostly, she doesn't.

They do the right thing when it impacts them. Otherwise, they go with the defacto party line, I'm afraid. She's not going to vote for Choice, is she? And she's a woman. Yet I'll lay odds she'll throw all women under the bus of forced birth, no exceptions.

Besides, it was her father who helped start the original slow moving coup. Politics makes strange bedfellows, it's true. But I'll never trust her. She has her own agenda. Whether or not she actually has a chance in hell to carry it out, is up to her, her father, and her father's cronies. But if she does, watch out... because we'll not be on her short list of friends.

But her sister continued in her lifestyle, and now she's married. By all accounts Liz and her sister have reconciled and they get along fine now.

The story I read about the Cheneys said that their father Dick was always OK with his gay daughter. Anyway Liz is married with kids, and she's a lot more conservative than her sister. They get along fine now, and Liz has changed her attitude towards gay people in general, and the laws that discriminate against them.

A few statewide GOP primary races barely went for mainline (very) conservative candidates over far-right extremists. New state party chair and bona-fide nutbag Dorothy Moon in particular is absolutely livid that crossover votes cost her the secretary of state nomination by a narrow margin.
