(9,897 posts)She had one of her friend group start parroting MAGA nonsense at a cheerleading get-together / party.
She stopped her mid-sentence, looked her dead in the eyes while telling her:
"I'm so disappointed in you. I thought you were smarter than that."
Love that kid more than I can ever express!

(100,101 posts)They are getting dangerous and scary with their rhetoric. And they are steering this country in a very dark and dangerous direction that is eroding human rights and embracing fascism and authoritarianism. If they're not stopped, America will become a fascist country in a few election cycles.

(6,423 posts)Our laws should have been cut and dried and simple, two much $ is involved now that it isn't.
The complexity is just a tool to weasel out, fucking obvious as hell.
Our "standards"? Nah some long dead old white man standards, we need a whole retooling, and until there is, this country will stay uncivil and nasty.
Didn't even need a lot of words.

(2,220 posts)Trust an old southerner, when they say it and it resonates with them, it is what it is. They want to own the libs. The secessionists in Texas talk about taking away the libs property and rights. Don't think for a moment, they don't really mean it, they are just waiting to make sure they can get away with it.
If they say it and it can be twisted or plain interpreted as horrid, expect it is what they want. If they point and blame expect it is what they are secretly doing. Somewhere there is a conservative owned pizza place with a basement. Their level of creativity is either slapping their name on it if they think it will be popular or branding an enemy with it if they think it's not. For real creativity, they hire lawyers.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-07-13/trolls-understand-what-hurts-people-but-they-simply-dont-care/8701424What do we know about trolls?
Psychological studies show trolls tend to be male, show higher levels of psychopathy traits low levels of empathy, guilt and responsibility for their actions and higher levels of sadism traits, the enjoyment of causing others physical and psychological pain.
Trolls are also motivated by what psychologists call "atypical social rewards".

They pretend to be knowledgable, but, just repeat what Fox News hosts say, like parrots.
Arguing with them is a waste of time. They instantly start insulting you for the lulz, or some shit, because any emotional maturity they had left has been stripped away by internet addiction and outrage addiction.
These clueless zombies are useful idiots to Fascism. Theyre clueless dumbshits that refuse to educate themselves, but, they blindly support MAGA.
Ahahahaha! Triggered! - The intellectual level of modern American politics. Its becoming like a WWE match now.
