Rep. Cheney just became the leading nominee for Republican President in 2024

Don't worry. I mostly hate her.

But she's killing the dragon.

For just today, she gets a nod.

It has splintered into at least three factions:

If it splinters over Trump, there won't be a unified opponent to the Democratic Party.

On the other hand, maybe a multi-party system would be an improvement. Who knows?

that she is considering running in the 2024 republican primary if Trump actually runs. Her entire focus would be to kneecap Trump, rather than having her eyes on the White House.

Of course, it is possible she would accept the VP spot withe the Florida snake. And other than this Committee, she has far, far more in common with Desantis than us.

I really don't think he'll make it to the 2024 Republican primaries. His legal and financial problems-- and possibly health problems-- will disqualify him.

The Republican Party is going to have to reorganize post-Trump. It's possible it will be far weaker.

While he might announce he's running soon, it will be primarily to ask the cult for donations. He won't be a factor in the primaries.

My concern is that Desantis runs. He might be the only one that presents a possible contest in 2024.

Keep in mind that Rep.Cheney was speaking to the broadest swath of Americans. The presentation tonight put many Republicans in a good light. She even expressed an "understanding" of those who were enthralled by Trump.

I still don't like her but she gets my nod tonight.

I wasn't quite sure why she brought that up and also went on to praise all the women. She is quite the enigma for me. I want to not like her, but I have watched all the hearings and I have to say I like her commitment and dedication, her sincerity and patriotism. I don't understand her position on anti-choice though. Then she comes out and supports LGBTQ rights because of her sister (I'm presuming). Makes me think she's one of those people who can only understand an issue if it affects them or their loved ones directly.

And, I think that's a good thing. I am convinced she is gaining more than she is losing on a national basis. But she will NEVER again win a race as a registered Republican.

is not invited to speak there. I forget where I saw that tidbit about Trump being shunned from Reagan’s library, so that might be wrong. But I’ve never seen him speak there and can’t recall any media coverage of a visit, so maybe that’s right. We’ll see how far that can get her.

I would love to see her dismantle Trump in a primary setting. She’s already doing a great job on J6.
