Dorothy's accomplices only lacked confidence, not courage, heart or brains.

The Lion had courage in many circumstances, even though he was scared.

The characters' admission of their perceived flaws and actively seeking ways to remedy them certainly elevates them to a category far superior to "Republican".

On the surface, those qualities, if allowed to stand through embraced ignorance, heartlessness, and cowardice, typify the character flaws and indeed qualifications necessary to be associated with today's Republican party.

I thought the ad was ingenious in the way humor was used to make a serious revelation. The narrative provided by Dorothy and her friends, along with Oz's series of self-incriminating snake oil pitches drove the point home!
