(7,797 posts)Ive been waiting to hear more about security preparations, and the errors. Im betting none of those who claim TFG offered support had first hand information and testified to the J6 committee.

(24,210 posts)Theyre rescuing. The Speakers role is little more than symbolic for security at the Capitol. Theyre really reaching.

(17,821 posts)My parents watch his show every evening and I've noticed that he looks down and then starts saying mm hmm, mm hmm after he asks a question. He basically is telling his guest to hurry up and spit it out so he can ask his next question. He especially does it when the guest is saying something that's contrary to Fox's orthodoxy. Rude bastard!

(17,821 posts)I guess serious journalists or broadcasters don't want to work at Fox, or maybe they're passed over. They have the most third-rate people I've ever seen. I guess they choose people who are working for local tv stations in rural areas. Shepard Smith was the only one who was worth a damn, and they ran him off. That's another thing, too, they hire people who would have a hard time getting a decent job somewhere else. Gives them leverage and keeps their 'stars' from quitting.

(196,502 posts)Tucker and Laura are actually third team themselves.
Think about signing up to work there, the Douchey kid leaps over everyone to be WH Reporter and they have an all purpose guy Lawrence Jones (you know what I mean). Douchey was hired while still in college. Theres nowhere to go....unless theres more sexual harassment charges or you get the blonde spot on the couch in the morning.

(13,538 posts)They don't know when the camera is on them & they're looking at their notes while the person interviewed is supposedly on camera. Remember, they don't ask questions for THEM its for the viewers.
Many years ago I worked for a short time at a local station & you'd be surprised what's going on when the camera is thought to be on someone out of the studio.

Shes representing the old guard who knew how much of a disaster Trump was going to be. They want to put him away both to retain power but also to just get rid of him.

(76,706 posts)It was talking about not "falling for the con" without ever mentioning exactly who was being conned.
The thread had some of what you mention, but there was plenty of pushback about the vacuous nature of the piece linked.
I know I can respect her standing on principle while being aware she's not a worthy ally in nearly all other regards.
I'm still perplexed as to who is falling for the "con" mentioned.

To which Mr. Buttigieg had to explain to this fool that Tesla makes electric cars and there are no tailpipes.

(44,807 posts)We all know that Trump couldve written a two sentence tweet at any time during the riot and stopped it. we didnt need extra security. We needed a president who is true to the constitution in American ideals. His word to the rioters wouldve worked much better than calling out the National Guard

(82,849 posts)Which is to say constantly. Trump would like people to believe that he offered additional security before he unleashed his riot on Capitol, but it's not true. The people who say Trump set an armed, violent mob on the Capitol have testified to that under oath. The people who say Trump is blameless have refused to testify under oath. Even a stone-brain like you, Brett, should be able to figure out why that is.

(39,154 posts)building security. So I suppose she had more authority over the Senate Majority Leader, who at the time was McConnell? I know it's all a load of crap and they look for any reason to blame Pelosi for something, but for some reason that one really grinds my gears.

(2,193 posts)Even though the graphic resolution of the video wasn't that good. Lordy, lordy - Fox News sure has a lot to walk back regarding Donald Trump. If Michael Jackson were still alive today, he would be booked solid giving moonwalking classes to Fox News reporters! God bless you, Liz Cheney, for standing up for truth against Trump and his Big Lie. Viva la democracia!
