A Republican lawmaker attended his gay sons wedding just three days after joining the majority of his GOP colleagues in voting against a House bill that would codify federal protections for same-sex marriage.
The gay son of Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., confirmed to NBC News on Monday that he married the love of [his] life on Friday and that his father was there. NBC News is not publishing the names of the grooms, neither of whom is a public figure.
Thompsons press secretary, Maddison Stone, also confirmed the congressman was in attendance.
Congressman and Mrs. Thompson were thrilled to attend and celebrate their sons marriage on Friday night as he began this new chapter in his life, Stone said in an email, adding that the Thompsons are very happy to welcome their new son-in-law into their family.

Two more paragraphs at the link.
Every single one of them is evil and/or a hypocrite.

(90,789 posts)1. Frankly...
If one of my parents/siblings/relatives of any degree were in a position of power and voted against me and my life, to include my bodily autonomy, that would pretty much end our relationship.
Fact is, I'd cut you out for even holding such opinions against my person.
This isn't like a disagreement on how to balance the budget.
Such bigoted attitudes and actions are harmful and dangerous.
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)2. And yet NBC can't quite bring itself to ask Rep. Hypocrite about his vote
By the way, there are several more paragraphs at the link now, mostly a re-hash of legislation passed by the House. This is just another exhibit in the never ending series of Republicans getting away with something the media would pounce on a Democrat for.

(4,766 posts)6. Mr. Thompson obviously loves political power
a lot more than he loves his son. Eventually karma will get him.
