Aside from the Police, I've seen him about 10 times. Sting is the soundtrack of the most miserable relationship (which lasted waaaaaay too long) of my life. Him and Peter Gabriel, who I just saw a few weeks ago.

It was the weirdest concert i'd ever been to...NO ONE was singing along to the songs, except for Big Time and In Your Eyes. They did "No Self Control" and a few songs from the "Melt" album and I was going NUTSO...crickets from the 'guylund' awe-dience. Very sad.

I was just listening to "Moribund the Bergermeister". Wondering how that would have gone over in the "Big Time" crowd. I mean, I like that song, but non-commercial songs like "Here Comes the Flood" make my heart go fluttah-fluttah (I'm from the Bronx originally...)

seen him live. I get my fix from the "Secret World" DVD a couple times a year. I did treat myself to a waaay pricey ticket to Sting once for a milestone Bday present.

Oh no you didn't! Hes mine, all mine!!!!!! MINE I TELL YA!!!!

He was the only person I've ever been literally gobsmacked about...back in the '90s I was working at Radio City Music Hall, and part of my job was to oversee the planning of parties for the President of the Company. Everyone at the Hall knew I loved him. Anyway this was when the Music Hall still hosted the Grammys and I was doing a security walkthrough with the woman who did the logistics for the party. We were standing near the "vip" entrance (an unmarked door leading into the Hall) and we all had security radios when we heard "special escort" which it the code that they'd say when someone like the mayor or the short fingered Vulgarian combover known as Trump came in. Anyway, I turned to the woman and laughed "watch--its gonna be Sting" and she laughed. At that moment, the Head of Security walked in with...STING. He looked at me and said "hello" and I said in my hippest, coolest voice... "hey".

I nearly fainted and thought I'd made an ass of myself. I was told I was i was as cool as a cucumber.

That was my brush with Sting. Because of my jobs, I've met princes, a President and lots and lots of movie stars. This was the only time I was speechless.
