Walgreens official policy gives employees the freedom to be bigoted towards customers.

A pair of customers shopping at the chain pharmacy Walgreens are crying foul after an employee cited their religious beliefs to justify not selling them condoms.

NBC News reports that Wisconsin resident Nathan Pentz earlier this month was left astonished when he learned that not only did a Walgreens employee refuse to sell him and his partner condoms on "religious grounds," but that such actions were permitted by Walgreens.

A spokesperson for Walgreens said that it was important for the company to have policies that both benefit customers while at the same time respecting workers' religious liberty.

"Our policies are designed to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and customers while respecting the religious and moral beliefs of our team members," the spokesperson said.

Maybe a good business to avoid if there is an alternative.

The virtue signaling made me suspicious and I checked it out. Oxycodone pushing, Medicaid over billing…..

Seems Trumpian in its business practices. Bears more investigation.

We’ve already read of a baker refusing to sell a wedding cake to a same-sex couple. Perhaps Jewish or Muslim people can refuse to sell hotdogs that contain pork for a Fourth of July celebration. Or an atheist who works in a book store refusing to sell a bible. Catholics only selling fish sticks on Friday? Theocracies are ugly.

Don’t shop there.

I know Walgreens won’t even be aware of my stance but I don’t care. I am comfortable using my locally owned pharmacy.

Fuck Walgreens.
