we need a nuremburg style trial.

dont drip drip drip this thing. put the whole damn gang in the dock.
i'm in favor of very generous plea deals. as long as we are sure they have sung every verse of their song.
fine w immunity for staffers, w same conditions.

they really need to all hang together, as the saying goes.

and I was going to create a post to ask questions. We need something sweeping and all-encompassing. In my hopeful imagination, I see something big happening in August - criminal charges brought against Trump and his inner circle. Certainly, all hell will break loose but all hell is going to break loose anyway with the violent rhetoric Trump and Bannon and Flynn are still spewing.

Should that happen, when the J6 hearings resume, they need to take on a different tone, with even bigger aspirations. It was made clear at the first hearing that they were, rightfully, focused on Trump, as the head of the snake. Now that we know he is under investigation, I'll be very interested to see how the hearings proceed. I think it could/should be something like Nuremburg once the seditious conspiracy is no longer in question in the minds of most citizens.

But how does that work when not all involved are military (though absolutely some are)? Maybe we're looking at something more akin to a mob RICO trial? Then again, we're looking at something we've yet to experience, so what unfolds from here is unknown and it's hard to even envision the next steps which would be pure speculation. Still, it's hard not to talk about it and imagine.

I played it for my 97 year old mom to keep her encouraged about aging healthily. Along with a 100+ y.o. 5k runner who picked up the sport in her late 90s.

9. That's an interesting idea, but we do not have any such tribunal option available

in our system of justice. That isn't how things are set up, so such a thing will not and cannot occur.

More's the pity, perhaps, but we're going to stick to our normal methods, I'm certain.

Did you know the Nuremberg trials were a military tribunal overseen by three judge panel with no jury?

The coup architects need jury trials, televised if possible. Plea deals should only be offered only to the first few to flip, only if they provide evidence that convicts those at the top (Trump), and deals should only be for slight reductions in their sentences, not immunity.

The coup architects need to be tried separately, with separate juries. Why risk mass acquittals on one stubborn juror?

Now Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld- they deserve a Nuremberg-style tribunal for their war crimes.

unless there's a crystal clear test for sanity that's usable.
i dont think this country is governable at this point. therefore my faith in juries is at an all time low.
we could have the chiefs of all 13 circuits.

we can break them into tranches. big fish 1st, see who still wants a trial after that.
